Tonisha C. Johnson is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and Strategic Communications & Narrative Impact Consultant with nearly 20 years of experience as an anchor, reporter, and producer. Grounded in journalistic integrity, her work centers truth, empathy, and public accountability.

Today, Tonisha partners with leaders, business owners, and mission-driven organizations to help them clarify their message, amplify their voice, and communicate with intention. Drawing on her deep newsroom experience, she brings a journalist’s lens to storytelling—uncovering the message that matters most and shaping it in a way that resonates with both decision-makers and the communities they seek to impact.

Through LEAPS DreamHouse, LLC, Tonisha provides media readiness coaching, leadership messaging strategy, 1:1 consulting, and group workshops, equipping clients to show up with confidence in interviews, public forums, and high-stakes moments. Her approach is practical, ethical, and impact-driven—designed to turn visibility into credibility and opportunity.

Tonisha is also the creative force behind Just Leap Production House, where she produces documentary films that center often-unheard voices, with a focus on the lived experiences of women over 40. Her documentary work is rooted in community and healing, using story as a tool to bridge generational gaps, shift narratives, and spark meaningful dialogue.

Beyond her professional work, Tonisha is a dedicated mentor to young adults and emerging leaders. When she’s not behind the camera or facilitating conversations, she can be found in nature or exploring new corners of the world. She makes it a point to visit a new country each year—though Greece, Egypt, and Israel remain among her favorite destinations.
