Tonisha Johnson is an Emmy-nominated and Emmy Award-winning journalist with nearly 20 years of experience in broadcast news. Over the course of her career, she has covered a wide range of stories—from politics and education to crime and compelling human-interest features—always with a focus on truth, empathy, and impact. A passionate communicator and gifted storyteller, Tonisha brings authenticity and purpose to every platform she touches.

She is the founder of LEAPS Dream House, where she serves as a strategist and consultant, guiding individuals to launch, emerge, and prepare to soar in their calling and purpose.

Tonisha is also the creative force behind Just Leap Production House, where she writes, produces, and directs documentaries that center on the often-unheard experiences of women over 40. Her filmmaking work is rooted in community, with a mission to bridge generational gaps, foster healing, and spark meaningful dialogue through the power of story.

When she’s not behind the camera or in the studio, you’ll find Tonisha mentoring young adults, spending time in nature, or exploring new corners of the world. She makes it a point to visit a new country every year—though Greece, Egypt, and Israel remain among her all-time favorite destinations.
