Tonisha Johnson

Tonisha Johnson is an Emmy Award-Winning Multimedia Journalist and Weekend Anchor in Columbus, OH. Covering politics and education across the state of Ohio, from the classroom to the statehouse, she delves into legislation and shares the stories of those whom it impacts in rural, urban, and suburban communities. She also shines a light on teachers, students, districts, and legislators making their mark in education. With every story, she aims to encourage, inform and inspire people as she shares compelling stories.

 

When developing a story, she takes great care in keeping a high level of integrity, by asking questions and getting the real facts viewers need to hear. She aims to provide a balance through fair reporting but makes sure the viewing audience walks away with the heart of the story.

 

When she’s not working on a story, she’s mentoring teens and young adults. She also loves sitting and just taking in the sights and sounds of nature. Oftentimes, that includes visiting new countries every year. While she loves the islands, Greece and Israel top her favorite places of all times list.
